This is a Chateau Lascombes Grand Cru Classe 1961 Margaux.
Chateau Lascombes owes its name to its first owner, Chevalier Antioine de Lascombes, born in 1625. Lascombes' vineyard is one of the Medoc's largest with deep, fine gravel soil. These are well rounded, concentrated wines with a great deal of charm. This Margaux has powerful, harmonious substance and well-rounded tannins.
Sold in very good cellar condition. The bottle has been very well looked after. The labelling is still in tact and the level is very good for the age. This is a rare bottle from one of the greatest vintages of the 20th century. Initially purchased from Grants of St. James's Ltd.
