Expert tasting note: "Deep, dark – almost opaque – ruby red. Intense aromas are earthy, with clean cassis perfume & cedar & tobacco notes. The wine has a lovely velvety smooth structure & good depth & intensity of fruit, that is meaty & almost tarry. Length is good acidity is perhaps a little soft. "It is an exquisite example of Pichon-Lalande with the Merlot component giving the wine a coffee/chocolatey/cherry component to go along with the Cabernet Sauvignon's and Cabernet Franc's complex blackberry/cassis fruit. The wine possesses an opaque black/ruby/purple colour, and sexy, flamboyant aromatics of pain grille, black fruits, and cedar.
