Description

One bottle of this wine, being the bottle shown in the photographs. Bought from the Wine Society some years ago and stored properly in a dark cellar since then. The label is in good condition. There are some slight scuff marks on the capsule as shown.

Clos de la Bussière is a premier cru vineyard situated in the Morey-Saint-Denis and a monopole of the Roumier family, who purchased it in 1953. The soils here are made up of similar rocky clay limestone as in Les Ruchots, also a premier cru in the appellation. The summer of 1997 presented very favourable conditions during the last stage of the growing season and the wines from that vintage are said to be very good indeed.

For example, 91 points Wine Spectator: "An attractive, rich red Burgundy that's savage. Rather dense and focused on wet earth and black fruit. Tastes ripe on the palate, with sweet, velvety tannins. Full-bodied, it's round and exquisite on the yummy finish."
