Description

“…a bright mahogany robe, has a nose of incense, noble woods, quince, a touch spirity and lots of hazelnuts, while the medium- to full-bodied palate is quite bitter, intense and powerful with the roundness of an Oloroso, persistent and full, with good acidity, ending with a note of coffee.”
94/100 The Wine Advocate

The house of Osborne has been the best kept secret amongst Sherry lovers for many years, as their basic level wines afford considerable substance and quality at quite the affordable price. It was only a matter of time before they found a VORS ( Vinum Optimum Rare Signatum) worthy of bottling under their name, and they found this opportunity in 2008. That’s when Bodegas Osborne purchased the four very old soleras made by the once-venerated, but now defunct, Bodegas Pedro Domecq.

These wines challenge and inspire the intellect, as well as the notion of complexity as we know it. Parts of the Capuchino Palo Cortado and the Siberita Oloroso date back to 1792, which make these wines a veritable part of the liquid history of Europe. Unfortunately, these are both rare and scarce.

Price shown is for a 75cl bottle in branded box as show. Pristine condition and immaculate provenance. Cellared in Europe since release. Inspected by Bid for Wine.
