Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, 96 points
"The 1977 has consistently been at the top of my list of vintage ports in this great vintage. It is a mammoth, opaque, statuesque vintage port of remarkable depth and power."

...plus some recent consumer comments from Cellartracker

Tasted by adanacsim on 1/1/2012 & rated 95 points: Decanted the wine approximately 4 hours before drinking. The wine was relatively light colored with a lovely nose with violet overtones. This is not a knock-you-out-dead wine; on the contrary, it was elegant and beautifully balanced, with plenty of fruit and hints of raisin and mint. A superb accompaniment to chocolate terrine with creme anglaise and strawberries. This does not seem to be a wine to keep for decades more and next time I shall only decant an hour or so before drinking.

Tasted by winemaker on 12/31/2011 & rated 100 points: Stunning. Showed signs of seepage. Cork was wet and crumbly. The aromatics on this wine were off the chart. This was fairly light in color, but was incredibly delcious. Tending towards tawny. Spectacular. Layered, complex and long.

Tasted by markelln@bellsouth.net on 12/14/2011 & rated 95 points: Ruby color with fast forming legs and aromas of honey, cloves and walnut. It's in total harmony and has flavours of burnt toast with a medium/full body. Bright texture with a long finish.

Tasted by caeleric/cae_cpa on 12/3/2011: stood up for 2 days, decanted for 2 hours, poured back into the cleaned out bottle, and served 2 hours later. this was smoking good. fully developed without being anywhere near its peak. gorgeous caramel, toasted hazelnut, currant liqueur, some earth spice, and christmas spices. this was a real treat; everything you would hope a mature vp would be. the palate was pure silk and seamless in its expansion across every nook and cranny of your mouth. the finish was amazingly long, lip smacking, and so so good. if scoring, 95-98. this will hold for many more years, though i don't see it getting any better.
