Gonzalez Byass's newest release of their now famous Tio Pepe En Rama. This is a special unfiltered and unfined version of their classic Fino sherry.
Intense, salty and yeasty this stuff is electrifying. It was the first thing I tasted at the 'Big Fortified Tasting' in London on Wednesday and I snapped up 20 cases there and then. The bad news is I'm buying some for myself. The good news is that you can still snap up what's left. Don't hang around though - there's not much of this and it'll be gone in a flash. If you want a serving suggestion it's an amazing accompaniment to grilled Asparagus covered in butter, lemon and parmesan...
