Reborn in 1985 when Gérard Gauby took over the family estate, Domaine Gauby has gained legendary status in Roussillon, producing wines that are both elegant and modern with great balance and concentration. 20 kilometres from Perpignan in the middle of a large area of grassland, garrigues and forests, the 45-hectare vineyard benefits from an excellent climate and geographical position, where the coolness from the altitude (150 to 300 metres) tempers the summer heat.
Coume Gineste is the domain’s finest white cuvée, made from 60-year-old Grenache gris and Grenache blanc planted at 200 metres of altitude on soils of schist, limestone and clay. This geological diversity brings clear aromatic complexity to the wine. Raised in new barrels (50%) for one year, the wine has a wonderful golden robe, and an elegant nose of exotic fruits and flowers.
