Champeaux -Medium ruby red. Fresh, opulent sweet dark and red cherry fruits surrounded by earth, wildness, vanilla oak and cold tones underneath. Similar profile on the palate: rounded, opulent. However, this is sufficient of ripe acidity backbone to support the succulent fruits. Quite powerful with palate staining intensity and ripe tannin. Lovely length. Good purity too
Vielles Vignes -Vines ranging in age from 42 to 72 years are the source of this wine, which was aged in French oak for 15 months (20% new). Light-to-medium ruby in color, it flaunts a beautiful, floral-dominated bouquet. Rose petal, dried cranberry, lavender and loamy earth aromas are followed by similar flavors on the medium-bodied palate. With a supporting structure of fresh acidity, seamless alcohol (13%), silky tannins and well-integrated oak, it stays solid in the middle and finishes with good persistence. This is an impressive village-level wine that should hold up well for several more years.
