Description

Josko Gravner is well known for producing wine only in exceptional vintage. nThe wine is fermented for 5 weeks in open wooden barrels without any control other than the temperature. Wild yeast are used in the fermentation process and are kept in the wine for a long period, just like the grapes' skin. At the end of the fermentation process, the grape skins and the yeast sediment are removed. The wine is then aged for 7 years in oak barrels, plus an additional 7 years in bottle. The wine is not filtered or clarified. nThis wine has exceptional reviews.nnGrapes: Merlot 95% - Cabernet Sauvignon 5%nnGravner IGT 2001 on the palate shows flavours of blackberries, dark red cherries, red chilli, sweet spices, damask plums, violets, garden-fresh herbs, cigar, and coffee. Tertiary notes as truffles, tea and leather. nPolished tannins and medium acidity support this elegant red; well-balanced, long finish.
