Domaine Ganevat - Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes, Chardonnay 2018
100% Chardonnay from a very old site planted in 1920 by Jean-Francois' grandfather in the commune of Vercia. The soils of this unique, south-facing warm site are composed of red marl, which is more compact and of higher quality on the right side than on the more calcareous left side. Here, the Chardonnay develops an exceptional minerality that highlights its straightness and tension. The Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes 2018 is concentrated Ganevat power in the glass and yet so delicate and elegant, always with perfect acidity and a long finish. Carefully hand-harvested with direct pressing, then slightly oxidised for four years in demi-muids. Like all natural wines from Domaine Ganevat, unfiltered and bottled without the addition of sulphur.
