Description

If you want to try Bebian, this is a great opportunity - six bottles with several years' age and clear, excellent provenance. They can be enjoyed over time (see drink dates below), and the price INCLUDES UK DELIVERY.

Currently stored in the Wine Society's temperature-controlled Members' Reserves, where they have been since purchase en primeur.

Here is the Society's tasting note on this wine, from a well-regarded vintage made by Karen Turner in the Langeuedoc:

"The Coteaux du Languedoc, Prieuré Saint Jean de Bébian.
Bébian is unquestionably one of the great wines of the Languedoc. The blend is a little less than half syrah with grenache and mourvèdre in support. The syrah is raised in new oak, the grenache in older barrels so as not to compromise the fruit. A slow burner, Bébian needs four or five years or so in bottle and then keeps remarkably well ageing like Châteauneuf. The 2006 combines power with a clean refreshing palate. 2010–2022."

The blog of Rosemary George MW gives the interesting background and story of the Domaine! http://tastelanguedoc.blogspot.co.uk/2010/09/prieure-de-st-jean-de-bebian.html

Lastly, the photo is of the 2003, but just to be clear, and as stated here, it's six bottles of the 2006 vintage that I'm selling.
