The 2001 Greenock Creek Shiraz Creek Block was one of a string of vintages at Greenock Creek that Robert Parker awarded the maximum 100 Points:-

"I have been consistently astounded by the quality of the wines at Greenock Creek,which is no doubt,due to the commitment of the owners but also to the winemaker Chris Ringland,who is one of Australia's genius wine producers".

"This South Australian superstar winery is owned by Michael and Annabel Waugh,both unassuming,humble people who are trying to produce the finest wines possible from absurdly low yields of their dry-farmed vineyard.The consulting winemaker is the renowned Chris Ringland of Three Rivers.While there is a tendency to think these are over the top,big wines,they are hand-crafted,distinctive efforts that possess extraordinary definition,soul,and personality".
