FOR SALE: ONE BOTTLE OF CHATEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 2eme GCC PAUILLAC
Sold in excellent condition for its age, with the bottle, the Andre Masson label, level, capsule and cork all very good with only small marks commensurate with decades of cellar storage, this bottle is being sold to make way for more wine.
1957 was a hard and tannic year in Bordeaux but paradoxically this makes for long-lived wines; and Mouton Rothschild of that vintage is still sought after by the wine community. Indeed, there are a couple of favourable tasting notes to be found with a little research, that allude to the 57 MR "finally beginning to shed its muscularity a bit".
A very fair reserve has been place on these bottles that takes into account the current market value, along with the profile and prestige of this wine. Currently, a bottle of 57 MR will cost from approx £400-£800 including tax and duty from an outlet - depending upon condition and fill level.
