An interesting bottle from the famous '61 vintage.
The label states :
"Shipped in wood and bottled by Christopher and Company Ltd 94 Jermyn Street London SW1"
Vast quantities of claret were shipped in barrel to Britain for centuries until 'chateau bottling' took over in the 1960's.
Very often the British bottlings were of a higher quality than those bottled by the property who simply were not as well equipped in those times.
The label is clear and complete as is the capsule, and the level is 'high shoulder'.
