Two very fine bottles of Pomerol 1967.
La Commanderie is a little jewel situated near the area of Taillefer right on the southern limits of Pomerol, near Saint Emilion. A small 5.8 hectare property it is planted with 65% merlot and 35% cabernet franc - a classic blend in these parts. Owned at that time by a Bordeaux dentist, Fernand Dé, this is an excellent château which was bought very recently for €8 million by a Hong Kong property developer. That's £1.1 plus the French land transaction taxes (some 20%) - per hectare.
Hope they got their sums right...

These two bottles have resisted the march of time remarkably well and have good labels - see snaps - neat complete capsules, and above all very good (47 years old) Base of Neck levels
