"Conti Serristori is a prominent estate with a particular vocation for typical Tuscan wines. Its products are all of a very high standard of quality and are produced with an absolute respect for tradition, from meticulous vineyard management to expert Vinification techniques. The Conti Serristori brand takes its name from an ancient and well-known noble Florentine family.
It has been making since since the 15th century, when Antonio Serristori, a senator of the Republic of Florence, received the farm at Sant'Andrea in Percussina with its vineyards and olive groves as a dowry when he married Niccolo Machiavelli's last heir.
Today Conti Serristori possesses 145 hectares of vineyards that stretch between the heart of the Chianti Classico and the historic city of San Gimignano.
Chianti and the other great Tuscan wines are vinified and matured at the main cellar, while the Vernaccia is vinified and matured at the San Gimignano estate. Conti Serristori produces the typical wines of Tuscany: it represents time-honoured Tuscan wine-making, rustic and ancient in its nobility."
