Description

Bordeaux wines from the 1975 vintage continue to have great longevity:

"This is a vintage for true Bordeaux connoisseurs who have the patience to wait the wines out.Could the great 1975s turn out to resemble wines from a vintage such as 1928,which took 30-plus years to reach full maturity? The great successes of this vintage are capable of lasting and lasting, because they have the richness and concentration of ripe fruit to balance out their tannins".

Robert Parker. (Bordeaux. Third Edition).

"The wine is a beautiful red brick, not too translucent, with a lovely intensity, with no real difference in the tone of it between the centre and the edge. The color is almost young! The nose is still closed and will be better after a good half hour after opening the bottle. There is red fruit (strawberry, cherry),some spices, but also leather and brown sugar. As in the case of 1973,drunk a few months ago,it is the flavors and finesse that there are in the mouth that seduce me at the highest level.Once again red fruit, sweet spices,an earthy twist and other evolved notes, and despite a perceived hollow in the middle of the palate,it is the very long finish, together with an incredible delicacy that charms ...

Another great moment in good company. Thanks guys!".

dzitt. (20/3/2010).

The last tasting note on Cellartracker:-

"As always, storage is everything. Basically in a refrigerator since the late 1970's. Emerges as old style intense and incisive Bordeaux. Think of the antithesis of the modern style and that will fit. Great palate impact - tobacco box, impressive length. But not at all generous or grapey or mouth fillingly round. Will keep just fine".
(91 Points).
