Very decent level - not sure whether I'd call that base neck or top shoulder. You decide. Capsule solid and intact, and the cork feels nice and firm. Label a bit tatty, but not too bad. Overall looks pretty good I reckon.
Would make a cracking 40th gift - 1976 Pauilalc is an underatted gem! Four recent reviews on Vivino; three giving 5 stars and one of 4.
This is the most recent review (Dec '14) on Cellar Tracker "Bright and fresh with deliciously sweet, jube like, cassis fruit. There's a hint of leathery development, some cedar and a little animale. It is full and generous with plenty of underlying graphite and a fresh, savoury finish"
And it even look like a bottle of Lafite!
