Description

A good clean example of this well known Saint-Julien with a good complete and unsullied label, an excellent level and good capsule over a firm Cork.

From a 375ml. What a shocker! Very earthy with a full bodied texture, nothing "thin" here. Had no expectations at all for this being an odd bottle in an auction lot. I'd love to have more of this but realize it's only good bottles at this point, not wines

6/29/2018 - PAUL D WROTE:89 Points
Bordeaux Wimps (10 Years and Counting) (La Trompette, Chiswick): From Magnum. Medium mahogany core, medium pale mahogany rim. Attractive, developed nose, fig, leather, touch of antique furniture, earth. Medium bodied, fully resolved tannins, figgy fruit, leather, balanced acidity, touch of caramel on the medium length finish. Mellow, harmonious, fully mature.

5/3/2018 - SHARONANDROLAND LIKES THIS WINE:92 Points
Decently aged. Second bottle better than first.

4/29/2018 - ANONYMOUS LIKES THIS WINE:91 Points
I have cellared this wine since 1982. With 90 minutes of air (decanted), this medium dark red claret had a typical St. Julien nose and nice fruit. The finish was fairly long and lovely. Overall, I heartily recommend this wine as a good value from a slightly better than average vintage.
