Description

This wine was matured for 16 months in cement tanks and then between 24 and 30 months in 225 liter oak barrels (90% American and 10% mix of French and Yugoslavian) and then stored a minimum of 36 months in bottle,before release.
It is a blend of 70% Tempranillo,15% Graciano and 15% Carignan.

1978 was a very good vintage in Rioja,but because of the age of this bottle,it would probably be prudent to pop and pour this wine,rather than decant for several hours.


The last tasting note of this wine on CellarTracker:-

"Amazing freshness and near perfect balance.Lots of sweet fruit on the finish.Beautiful nose with earthy barnyard funk,caramel,wet leaves and old burnt wood.Dense with a smooth texture and ripe super-fine tannin.Really holding up well".
