Part of Talbot vertical 67, 79, 81, 96. Extremely well balanced. My favorite of the group. Classic Talbot characteristics of tobacco, leather, ripe dark plum, clay and a hint of dirty straw (the good type of dirty, like the bits of straw with dust on it that is left on your clothes after sitting in a barn). A slight bit less robust than the last 1981 I tried 4 years ago.

Very expressive with red fruit, soil, herbs, tobacco, blood and iron. I love the softness and sweetness of this wine. A mature classic st julien. Drink up.
