Jan 2000 Neal Martin 85-87
This is not a bad 1988 at all. The bright garnet/ruby core with a brick red rim. The nose is quite intense: lead-pencil, cassis and cedar. Very Pauillac in style. The palate has moderate concentration, firm, and slightly coarse tannins with an attractive core of rustic, black, dusty fruit. Lacks a bit of harmony but it is not austere like many other wines from this vintage.
