Description

Forgotten,but recently discovered with some other old vintage Burgundies,under other cases of wine in my cellar.
This bottle of 1988 Corton Grand Cru is most likely to be beyond its best drinking window and on the decline.
However,it may still have some very subtle smoky,coffee,pruney,savoury flavours and a light,delicate,spicy (acidic) backbone holding the wine together.
It is an opportunity to experience the nuances and flavours of an aged Grand Cru Burgundy,which has been kept,since purchase,in perfect storage conditions.
From a top grower - Tollot-Beaut - if this wine is in reasonable shape,it should be an ideal match for feathered game,rabbit,or hare,paired with a mushroom based sauce.
Younger vintages of this wine retail for over £100 per bottle.
