Description

From the late, great Serge Hochar.

Imagine making wine with bullets, mortar bombs, armed military aircraft overhead, not to mention bands of 'guerillas' hiding somewhere on the property...and making it so well that it becomes a national emblem. Well, he did just that during the long and bloody "civil" war in his country. 1989 was his 50th birthday vintage.

Here is an '89 with a good level (they have never economised on the corks) a good complete label and embossed label.

For sale in just a couple of sites in Britain FRW and Lay & Wheeler) at around £92 to £117 a bottle, plus 20% VAT...

"This is the way how for non major wine country to introduce itself in fine wine arena. Lebanon is not a country that most would guess for a fine wine, but it really surprises. This one has something from the best of Bordeaux. Aromas of cherries, red currant, black currant and spices. Balanced and structured fruity taste with black pepper, high tanins and long aftertaste".
