Description

TWO lots of THREE bottles fgrom the great 1990 vintage.

All are in first class condition with levels at base of neck, or higher.

Lamarque has 50 hectares under vines planted with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot and produces around 300.000 bottles a year. Oak aged.

The actual "chateau" really is a proper chateau (and not a factory built bungalow in a field that you can certainly find in the Bordeaux area...) and has 2m thick walls dating from the 11th and 12th century and along with d`Agassac and La Tour Carnet are the only remaining `proper` chateau - keep, drawbridge, moat, the lot - remaining in the Medoc peninsular. Many period films have been shot at this chateau. Its battlements feature on the label. The Black Prince was a previous 'owner'.

In the same family since 1841 (Marquis d`Evry) and today the descendant Monsieur Gromand who replanded the entire estate in 1963 has brought this chateau up to date over the years. Lamarque produces long lasting typical Haut Medoc wines, and this from the excellent 1990 vintage will now be pleasing to amateurs of mature claret.
