A rare chance to try the first vintage of Artadi's single vineyard Rioja "El Pisón".
Viña El Pisón is located in Laguardia, facing southeast and covering an area of 2.4 sandy limestone hectares resting in a small hollow, which acts as a natural cradle craved in the foothills of the massive ridges of Sierra Cantabria. Here ARTADI produces an almost mythical wine with a character that fully expresses the personality of its winemaker and the particular characteristics of a miraculous terroir. El Pisón's history goes back to 1945, when Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacalle's grandfather Jenaro, planted the first vines. Since 1991, it was clear to all the members of the family that something extraordinary happened to the grapes coming from their hidden vineyard. Jenaro's intuition wasn't just a dream; a wine widely acclaimed since its first vintages, El Pisón 2004 entered a very exclusive club when awarded 100 points by Robert Parker's magazine The Wine Advocate.

5,423 bottles of the 1991 were made. These two are in their original cellophane wrappings, with good levels.
