Description

"The 1992 La Mordoree offers a sweet,violet,cassis,smoky-scented nose,sweet,rich,opulent flavors,full-body,and a long,luscious,low-acid,richly fruity finish.Already delicious,this full-bodied,silky-textured wine should drink well for another 15 years".
(92 Points).

Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate. June 1996).

"The 1992 La Mordoree was vinified in open wooden vats before being aged in 225 litre barrels for between 14 and 18 months without fining or filtering.Deep red in colour, spice and liquorice aromas dominate here, with notes of candied blackcurrant and a touch of violet. The wine reveals an ample, elegant texture on the palate, with beautiful balance and tannins that are silky, but clearly present. It has wonderful ageing potential of over 20 years".

Chapoutier Winemaker's Tasting Notes.

The most recent tasting note on the 1992 Chapoutier La Mordoree Cote Rotie:-

"Developed nose with blackberries, pronounced animal notes with blood and meat juice, hints of leather and barnyard notes, some pepper, herbaceous notes, and mint.Medium(+) body with blackberries and some red berries, fine acidity, gravelly minerality, some black pepper, rather smooth tannins with a berry-dominated aftertaste.Typical mature Cote Rotie, fine balance and surprisingly fresh for its age!".
