Description

This is a wonderous estate producing better and better wines. Christine Valette-Pariente was a great host when I visited the estate some 15 years or so ago. And her help she gave me when I was organising meals for the group I was touring with, gives me a soft spot for this estates wines.

The second wine of Chateau Troplong-Mondot, Chateau Mondot, is one of the better seconds from this AOC. Being Merlot driven, 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, the fruit is very expressive, but it has a real solid core that means that both the first and second wines of this house have long maturing lives. Just ask Mr Parker!!, who I believe is a great fan of these wines.
