Description

"More lift on the nose than the 1993.Blackberry,mint,cedar:good delineation,although lacking a little vigor.The palate is full-bodied,very good concentration and definition.Very nice balance.Quite assertive,good grip and persistency,with red berried fruit,smoke,cedar.Classic in style,but certainly one of the better 1994s that I have tasted".

"Brane-Cantenac was perceived throughout the 70s and 80s as an underperforming property.Since Henri Lurton took over (in 1992) there has been an extensive investment in the cuverie and chai,as well as vastly improved vineyard management techniques.Consequently the wines at Brane-Cantenac now show more weight and concentration,although they still possess the haunting bouquet and quintessential elegance that characterise the wines of Margaux".
