1995 was an awesome vintage in both St.Julien and Pauillac.The Borie family also owns Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou,of which their 1995 vintage was Wine Spectator's No.1 wine in their 1998 "Top 100 Wines" list.,so the quality of Grand-Puy-Lacoste is probably on a par.Robert Parker awarded Ducru-Beaucaillou 1995 only 94 Points!

"Another unbelievably rich,multidimensional,broad-shouldered wine,with slightly more elegance and less weight than the powerhouse 1996,this gorgeously proportioned,medium to full-bodied,fabulously ripe,rich,cassis-scented and flavored Grand-Puy-Lacoste is another beauty.It should be drinkable within 4-5 years,and keep for 25-30.This classic Pauillac is a worthy rival to the otherworldly 1996. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2025. Last tasted,November 1997".
