Earthy mineral aromas intermixed with smoky tobacco, scorched earth, red currants, sweet cherries, and spice box jump from the glass of this complex, nuanced red. The light to medium ruby/garnet color is followed by notes of old wood, sweet, fresh mushrooms, roses, currants, and cherry fruit. 904 showcase at peaking age from top year. Drank in Zalto burg glass as its like an aged burgundy. Pours a seductive clear medium healthy brick red. Nose is the star here exploding with smoked burnt oak, soggy leaves, leather, plum and figs. The fruit is singing with the barrel. Palette shows a beautiful silky light creamy stewed fruit with soft tannins and near zero acidity. Reaching peak. For 75-150 UK it's worth the low end price. Drink now to next 3 years.
