"The more serious grand vin twin, the 2005 d’Issan, has a stunning nose of spring flowers, blackcurrant and blue/black fruits galore, and an impressively opaque dark plum/purple color. With a rich, concentrated and pure mouthfeel, wonderfully sweet tannin, full-bodied density and richness, but elegance in abundance, this is a stunner, and one of the great Margaux of the vintage. "Tasted single blind at Southwold. This has an attractive, Margaux nose with floral, violet aspects coming through. Good definition. Feminine. The palate is quite tannic, pain grille, a little dusty but I think there are layers of pure, succulent black berried fruits underneath. Great definition, ditto potential. Long-term wine from the moated Margaux estate that is definitely on the up. Drink 2012-2030. Tasted January 2009." (93 Points, Neal Martin)
