The undermentioned tasting note plaudits of the 2006 Meyney is evidence that this is one of the best value clarets on the market,almost rivalling the quality of Meyney's outstanding 2005 vintage;-
"Very attractive, with lots of blackberry and currant character. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long finish. Impressive. Very close to the 2005".

"I drank this one evening with a friend on the third of my four trips to Bordeaux this year: sober, satisfying left-bank thinker's claret from a great gravel-over-clay terroir, and much better than its generally modest score tally suggests. The lesson is that the best unclassifed Médoc properties offer, without shouting about it (and unfashionable as it may be to say so),some of the greatest red-wine value in the world".

A more recent tasting note on Chateu Meyney 2006 on Cellartracker:-
"The wine has become very tamed and balanced. Definitely drinking now for a delightful bordeaux. The tannin finish has muted since April, and after 30 min or so opens up with dark plum and cherry, slight sweetness or a lightness, not chewy and heavy like some cab's. Wish I had more now! As a second label, giving it 9yrs made it worthwhile. I hope 2012/2013 will be as good in the future".
