Description

"What's so striking about 2009 - and I haven't seen this sort of excitement since 1982 is the quality of the Cru Bourgeois and the petit vins and the generic Bordeaux that are available. In short,2009 is the greatest vintage I have tasted in Bordeaux since 1982,of which it is a modern-day version, but greatly improved.
Just like in 1990 and 1982,the low acidity, the very ripe fruit, the high glycerin levels from the elevated alcohols, and the stunning concentration and fruit from low yields will give most of these wines incredible appeal in their youth".

Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate. #188. April 2010).

"***Smart Buys***.Offers a dark, plush feel, with roasted fig and warm currant preserves notes, flowing over dark tobacco and bittersweet cocoa flavors, followed by a solid,tarry-edged finish.Drink now through 2019".
(90 Points).

The Wine Spectator. (March 2012).

"60% Cabernet Sauvignon,37% Merlot,3% Petit Verdot.Intense and savoury-edged cassis with a very light leafiness adding freshness.Tight, tense, and grippy at the moment, but with fruit to fill the core".

Jancis Robinson. MW. (September 2011).

In the Decanter Magazine,June 2010 Edition,Stephen Spurrier (Chairman of the Decanter World Wine Awards) acknowledges that 2009 Bordeaux is "the best vintage of my lifetime" and states that the Chateau Caronne Ste.Gemme 2009 is one of his top five wine choices for his own personal cellar:-

"Fine cassis fruits, smoky classy nose, lots of depth and good potential complexity. 2014-2020".

Decanter Magazine. June 2010 (Awarded **** (Four Stars) in their 2009 Bordeaux En Primeur Tasting).
