Description

The blending of the Grand Listrac 2009 wine was made by Eric Boissenot, the oenologist at Chateaux Latour,Lafite Rothschild and Margaux. The wine is made up of the Bordeaux grape varietals - 60% Merlot,35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot, and aged for 12 months in oak barrels,50% of which are new.
Robert Parker states that 2009 was a superb year for Bordeaux's "petits vins",with most wines from that vintage having low acidity and high alcohol (the Grand Listrac has 14% alcohol) - the best since 1982 and this wine should still be drinking well for the next 4-5 years:-

"For a Listrac-Medoc,this is an impressively rich wine - a powerful, smooth, almost velvety wine with great juicy flavors. The freshness of the 2009 vintage is the hallmark of this deliciously ripe but elegant wine.It is packed with juicy red berry fruits, giving richness, with vibrant acidity. In proper Bordeaux fashion,it finishes dry and firm and has sufficient oak tannins and structure to cellar well.A treat!".
(91 Points).
