Description

Chateau Brown owes its name to a rich Scottish wine trader,John Lewis Brown, who settled in Bordeaux shortly after the French Revolution,in 1795.The former Chateau Barriere officially took the name of Chateau Brown at the end of the Eighteenth Century.

2010 was a superb vintage in Bordeaux:-

"It is an inescapable truth that 2010 has produced another compelling year of Bordeaux that will go down as a prodigious vintage alongside 2009.
Take your pick - this news is either tragic or mythical, but I have tasted enough wines from 2005,2009,and 2010 to realize that these may be the three greatest Bordeaux vintages I have tasted in my career".

Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate).

""Cellar Selection" Chateau Brown continues its impressive push to quality with this fine 2010.It demonstrates the structure of the year with its firm, youthful tannins. But it also shows plentiful blackcurrant flavor, layered with acidity.Classic and serious, this is a wine for aging".
(92 Points).

The Wine Enthusiast. (Tasting note on 2010 Chateau Brown. February 2013).

"Shows good range, with red and black currant fruit playing off each other, while tangy iron and sanguine notes flitter throughout.Turns plush and inviting, with a tarry note inlaid on the finish.Displays density, but stays pure and well-balanced overall.Cabernet Sauvignon,Merlot, and Petit Verdot.Drink now through 2020".
(92 Points).

The Wine Spectator. (March 2013).

"Fruit-forward aromas turn to spices and warm stones.Full-body,with chewy tannins and a juicy finish.Really delicious young wine.Hard not to drink now,but better in 2016".
(92 Points).

James Suckling. (JamesSuckling.com February 2013).
