Description

Chateauneuf du Pape had an exceptional vintage in 2010 and Robert Parker awarded this appellation with 98/100 Points on his vintage chart for this year. This would be the reason why Parker believes the 2010 Pere Caboche to be slightly more concentrated and intense than a normal vintage.
The 2010 Pere Caboche Chateauneuf du Pape is a blend of 80% Grenache,15% Syrah, and 5% Mourvedre. It is aged in a combination of traditional concrete vats and large oak foudres for 12 to 14 months.

"This ancient Chateauneuf du Pape estate, owned by the charismatic mayor Jean-Pierre Boisson dates back to the 1700s.The style of Pere Caboche wines is one of unbridled fruit, forward, seductive personalities and limited ageability. The 2010s are slightly more concentrated and intense".

Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate. October 2012).

The last two tasting notes on this wine on CellarTracker:-

"Nose: fine smoke with fine vegetables and herbs. Taste: blueberry and blackberry with English licorice. At the second day deliciously fresh.A quite refined and really nice wine. With food, the alcohol was not disturbing. To be drunk now,but might benefit from further cellaring".
(88-89 Points).

CellarTracker. (21/3/2016).

"I was not familiar with this producer and wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised.Ripe dark and red fruits,a nice texture, good acidity and remaining grip.Nice balance and shows the potential of the vintage.A solid entry level Chateauneuf du Pape that should drink well for at least a couple more years".
(90 Points).

CellarTracker. (24/6/2016).
