The Chapoutier vineyards have been in the same family since the early nineteenth century.
In 1988,Michel Chapoutier took over control and all the vineyards are now run on biodynamic principles.Michel knew that he owned some of the best growing sites in the appellations and he believed - rightly - that the grapes grown in his vineyards could produce long-lived,world-class wines.He decided that he would make the wine himself and the quality of the wines have since been transformed.
2010 was superb vintage in Cornas and this wine was made from 100% Syrah grapes.
"The wine exhibits a black olive and rosemary-scented nose with loads of cassis fruit.In the mouth,there is rustic tannin,tell-tale acidity,medium-body,fine ripeness,and a backward personality.This will be a Cornas to lay away for three to four years.It should keep for 10-12".
