Description

Although this unique wine has a tongue-in-cheek label,it has the pedigree of of the superb 2010 vintage in St.Emilion, combined with a top-flight winemaker (the garagiste,Jean-Luc Thunevin).
Made from a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon (some of the grapes are sourced from the Pomerol appellation),Bad Boy carries the generic Bordeaux AOC label, however,it is treated almost as a Grand Vin,as the wine is aged in 100% new French oak barrels.Much of this wine is exported to the USA (where it comes under the label of "Mauvais Garcon") and the Far East and the 2010 Bad Boy is now almost impossible to find retailing in the UK.
The production of this wine is made in the same "garage" as the renowned St.Emilion wine Chateau Valandraud:-

"This is fresh, with an expressive beam of cassis, cherry pie and blackberry fruit flavors layered with red and black licorice and backed by honest grip on the finish.Offers good purity and mouthfeel".
(90 Points).

WineSpectator.com (2013).

"The 2010 is one of his (Jean-Luc Thunevin's) best efforts so far,but they have all been good since he introduced this fun-drinking,hedonistic,delicious wine a number of years ago.Dark plum/ruby,with loads of mocha and black cherry fruit, this sleeper of the vintage is a Bordeaux fruit bomb and great value.Drink it over the next several years".

Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate. February 2013).
