Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

This turned out to be one of the better 1979 St.-Estephes. Like so many wines from the 1979 vintage, it is compact, but the solid color and spicy, earthy, curranty nose combined with medium to full-bodied flavor extraction and crisp finish are pleasurable. Fully mature, it is capable of lasting another 3-4 years. Last tasted, 5/93.
