Description

One bottle of Bouchard Aîne & Fils Chambertin 1972 in pristine condition.

This is an incredibly rare wine from one of the most prestigious grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy, not for sale anywhere else in the world. The level and colour are excellent, with a deep cherry-red glow.

Michael Broadbent rates the vintage *** (good) in his Vintage Wine guide, while Robert Parker said that "1972 was an outstanding vintage in Burgundy". Producers had mixed success further south in the Côte de Beaune but the wines of the Cote de Nuit, and Gevrey-Chambertin in particular, are generally considered to have been very good indeed.
