A dense purple color is followed by layers of concentrated blackberry fruit intertwined with damp earth, mushroom, and sweet, toasty barrique smells. With ripe tannin, medium to full body, a layered texture, and a concentrated, impressively endowed finish, this is the finest Du Tertre since their 1979. This is a property on the move ... up! Anticipated maturity: 2004-2018.

Lovely decadent chocolate nose with notes of prunes. Intense multi-layered palate with firm tannins. Rich chocolate and black fruits. Good acidity. Great balance. Almost New Worldy in style. Delicious. Great value. Losing its lustre a bit at the MW tasting in November 2004. The nose is a little disjointed and muted but the palate had good concentration with notes of mocha and truffles. Good definition with a mushroom and forest floor finish. Fine.
