Pauillac 5ieme Grand Cru Classe
Grand Puy Lacoste is the perfect example of a classic Pauillac, tannic and full bodied. The chateau has a reputation for outgunning its classification level so offers good value. A great wine for keeping and this vintage has aged beautifully; peaking at maturity now (see cellar tracker reviews below).

Big and muscular, with loads of fruit and tannins, this will age for as long as you like. Dark ruby color. Loads of blackberry, cherry and pepper. Full-bodied, adding lots of chewy tannins and a long aftertaste of cherry, black licorice and dark chocolate.
Blend of the 1989 vintage: 5% Cabernet Franc, 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot
