Description

Chateau Gruaud-Larose 1973 2nd Growth
The 82 hectare Saint Julien vineyard of Gruaud Larose is planted to 60% Cabernet Sauvignon , 30% Merlot , 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot . The vineyard of Gruaud Larose is unique as it’s one of the largest vineyards in Bordeaux that is in one single block. The vineyard has not changed since it was created in 1781. Thus, the vineyard is exactly the same today as it was when it was classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc. The vineyards occupy the highest point of elevation on the St. Julien plateau.

Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou 2nd Growth
Ducru Beaucaillou is one of the oldest Bordeaux wine producing estates in the Medoc . History dates what we know of as Ducru Beaucaillou all the back to the start of the 13th century. Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou is at the top of their game these days. The wines produced today offer intense concentration of flavors, ripe tannins, supple textures, purity of fruit, the structure to age and a unique sense of harmony, that is only found in the best Bordeaux wines.
