Chateau La Garde has a long history in Pessac Leognan . It dates back to at least 1732, when the chateau was built. The property was sold from negociant, passing from the Lacoste family, who gave their name to the Pauillac estate, Grand Puy Lacoste to the Eschenauer family.
We bought Château la Garde in June 1990, totally seduced by the exceptional quality of the terroir, which is quite possibly one of the finest gravel outcrops in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Patrick Jestin
A legendary vintage in Bordeaux.
Superb level for the year. Tasted from bottles December 2015. After decanting and leaving to rest for 20 minutes the wine was in superb condition, excellent colour and still plenty of fruit.
