From 750ml. Decanted and served an hour later. Cork was remarkable, fully intact and only soaked for 1 or 2mm. Clearly very well stored. Colour was brick red with hardly any brown edges. Nose was superb. Not much fruit but classic, aged Latour nose with plenty of cedar and wood. On the palate the fruit was faded but this was still a good balance of acidity and tannin, and a long classic aged Latour finish. Pretty remarkable for an average vintage of this age. It shows that Latour was (and still probably is) the king of the commune for making age worthy wine in ok vintages. Needs to be drunk now though as is nearing the end of a long, gentle decline in fruit.
