Description

A bottle direct from the chateau consumed the day that Michel Delon passed away. Roasted herbs, earth and leather on the nose. A ripe autumnal palate with fully mature fruits that are rapidly fading, rendering it very astringent. But nice integration: leaves, mocha and leather. Very gentle wine nearing the end of its life. Drink up. Tasted July 2000. 85-87pts

I never tasted this wine in the early seventies when it was reputedly at its best. Recent examples have been dry, astringent, acidic, and revealing a glaring deficiency in fruit. Anticipated maturity: Now-probably in serious decline. Last tasted, 5/86. 71pts
