Description

A 13 hectare vineyard owned and run by Xavier and Corinne Loriaud at Cars, a village near the estuary town of Blaye, a right bank appellation north of Bordeaux itself and one of the earliest vineyards in the area, where wines have been produced long before the Medoc which was a waterlogged penninsular inhabited by frightening inbred "medocains" until the Dutch clearances of the 16th C.

This well made claret from the fabulous 2005 vintage is composed of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet and 10% Malbec Grapes are hand picked and the wine is aged 16 months in French oak. The result is a plump, ripe and fruity claret which will accompany most roasts and cheeses.

Again, this is a SERIOUS CLARET made by people who care and not to be confused with GB supermarket sock juice masquerading under the same guise.
