Often described as 'Perfect Pauillac', a 5th growth property that consistently out-performs its category. Predominance of CABERNET SAUVIGNON provided structure and staying-power, Cabernet Franc and Merlot the flavours expected of a fine claret - from black fruits to cedarwood and a hint of spice.
1986 was described by Decanter magazine as a particularly good vintage for Pauillac and for Lynch-Bages, and the wines seem to have withstood the ageing process well. Some critics have enjoyed earlier drinking, those who appreciate the taste of mature wines opt for between now and well into the 2020s.
