A great, complex wine, which with the 1964 is Serge Hochar’s reference for character and complexity. The colour is beautiful, mature and full, and the impressive bouquet shows a whole spectrum of nature’s aromas you – jasmine, roses, peony…. The complex, large structured body extends all the way through to the long finish.
This wine envelops the palate like fine, garnet-red silk; it is elegant, but with a firmness encompassing earthy notes and hints of dried leaves; full, yet subtle. Fine and fruity, this wine has surprising freshness, on the nose and the palate.
The 1977 is a wine of grandeur with an abundance of tannin and backbone; very Pomerol-like in character (due to a higher proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage) with excellent apparent longevity.
